Sheikh Usman Sharabutu, national Chief Imam has urged Ghanaians to stay united and live in harmony all times in the country.
Speaking during this year’s edition of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration at the Black Star Square in Accra, the Muslim leader called on Ghanaians to be at peace with each other.
Muslims around the world on Wednesday celebrated the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims gathered at the Independence square to pray and end the month long fasting.
“We thank Allah for his blessings during and after the fasting. We are grateful for his peace. We must live at peace with each other because that is what the holy Quran teaches us. We must not fight among ourselves. There has to be peace,” Sheikh Usman Sharabutu said.
President John Mahama and other dignitaries attended the event.
