Kanye West has posted a throwback photo of himself alongside his mother Donda in her memory on what would have been her 67th birthday.
In a post on twitter, the rapper was emotional about a question his 3-year-old daughter, North had asked him about his late mother.
“Nori asked if the airplane could take her to heaven to see you for your birthday, I love you Mom (sic),” he wrote.
Meanwhile his wife, Kim Kardashian, also retweeted a special message from a fan account – which read: “ #HappyBirthdayDondaWest Thank you for the son you raised so beautifully. Rest Peacefully,” and shared footage of Kanye and his mother.
The message comes just weeks after Kanye debuted his new video game, Only One, which immortalises his late mother. In the video, Kanye’s mum is seen being elevated to the heavens.
Donda died in 2007 one day after going through multiple plastic surgery procedures. In a June 2015 interview with GQ, Kanye appeared to blame himself for his mother’s death.
