African Union passport to be unveiled

The African Union (AU) is set to unveil a passport that will allow people to visit African countries without visas.

It forms part of the AU’s plan to promote free movement of people and goods across the country.

African heads of state and top AU officials will be the first to receive the travel document while eligible citizens of AU countries will get their passports within three years, according to a report by the BBC.

Ghana, according to ghanabusinessnews.com, is the first of the 54 countries of the African Union (AU) to report back to the AU that it has completed mechanisms for the use of the continental passport proposed by the organisation.
