A policeman, his pregnant wife, their 3-year-old daughter and their nephew died in a horrible accident on the Adabraka road in Accra on Sunday dawn, it has been reported.
The policeman identified as Sergeant Francis Essuman, 42, his nephew Kobby, 21, and their daughter Wilhelmina, 3, were accompanying his pregnant wife, Elizabeth Essuman, 36, to the hospital to deliver when the accident occurred.
Police say the woman delivered a baby boy in the car, prompting them to panic. In a bid to reach the hospital on time to avert any complication, the taxi driver was compelled to speed.
The taxi is said to have then crashed into a bus that was on speeding from Tudu in Accra.
Police say the taxi somersaulted several times, killing the policeman, his nephew, and daughter on the spot, with his wife dying later on the way to the hospital.
However, the baby survived without “any scratch on his body”,according to the police.
