Zanetor's victory follows a filed suit by her contender, Nii Armah Ashitey who had earlier challenged Zanetor's eligibility as a Ghanaian voter - a development which saw the electoral commission reveal that the daughter of the Rawlings was indeed not a registered voter. Zanetor Rawlings, however, registered as a voter when the Electoral Commission opened its limited registration in May.
