Airtel Ghana has awarded the 2016 National Spelling Bee champion with a full year scholarship. Miss Afua Ansah emerged as the best speller beating off stiff competition from other pupils across the country.
As part of her prize, Ansah becomes Ghana’s first representative at the Scripps Spelling Bee championship in the United States of America where she emerged as part of the top 20.
Chief executive officer of Airtel Ghana, Lucy Quist, praised Ansah for her brilliance and for being a great ambassador for the country.
Afua, 14, is a final year student at the Christ the King School in Accra. Her family expressed their immense gratitude to the network for "investing in the life of Afua".
