Mallam Yusif Issah, the former PNC national chairman who was jailed for four years for “misplacing” $46,000, has described opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, as the incarnate of Hitler and Stalin.
Adolf Hitler was the German chancellor who provoked the Second World War in which over 60 million people were reportedly killed. His Nazi government is also said to have killed six million Jews.
Joseph Stalin, on the other hand, was the leader of the Soviet Union from the mid-1920s until his death in 1953. Under his watch, the USSR is said to have suffered 56 to 62 million "unnatural deaths", with 34 to 49 million directly linked to Stalin.
Speaking on Accra 100.5 on Tuesday, Mallam Issah said Akufo-Addo was not fit to be president because he had supervised the collapse of unity in his party.
“Me, Mallam Issa, I see both Hitler and Stalin in him [Akufo-Addo] because he is not a peacemaker,” he said.
The former minister for sports said Ghana could be plunged into war if Akufo-Addo won the November elections.
Mallam Issah also criticised Akufo-Addo’s plan to build one factory in every district, describing it as impossible.
Akufo-Addo was the attorney-general when jailed for causing financial loss to the state.
