Jungle justice is becoming a daily phenomenon in the lives of many. In yet another instance of people taking the law into their hands, an eyewitness posted a report on Twitter on how a young man suspected of theft was beaten to death.
The incident which occurred around the highbrow Lekki Penninsula area of Lagos State becomes part of an endless list that seems to suggest an increasing breakdown of regard for law and order in Nigeria.
The victim, who was suspected of having stolen a laptop along the Admiralty Way in the Phase 1 part of the Penninsula, lost his life to an angry mob that would not wait for police to investigate the situation properly.
According to the eyewitness, Odior Oshioke Odior;
"The man reportedly stole a laptop which made him get the beating of his life. His lifeless body was spotted lying in the middle of the road on Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, as residents await the arrival of the authorities."
