Two remanded for defiling underage girls

A Tema circuit court has remanded a 19-year old bonito police custody for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl Ashamang, a suburb of Tema New Town.

Ablor Chester, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement, is said to have approached the victim and lured her to his room and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.

According to the prosecutor, ASP Stanley Dzakpasu, the father of the victim, lodged a complaint at the police station after victim narrated the incident to him.

A police medical report form was issued to the victim for examination and treatment at a public hospital.

The prosecution said Chester, was arrested after the investigation and charged with the offence.

In a related development, a 34-year-old unemployed squatter in Tema Community One also appeared before the same court for defiling a 15-year-old girl.

Abdul Salam, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement, was remanded into police custody by the Court to reappear on August 2.
