This girl is just 27. She looks and feels healthy, and she never expected to be one of the people, who have to worry about getting HIV. This “gift” she got from her “blesser”.
What hypocrisy it is to call an elderly man, who pays money for sex a “blesser”, but that’s what they do in South Africa! These older guys provide money and gifts to the young girls, who come from poor background. They give them the life of dream for a short time and a permanent nightmare for the lifetime!
Lebogang Motsumi is one of such willing victims of the HIV and comfortable life. When she thought of HIV, she has seen those thin and unhappy faces of the dying women. She never imagined being one of the “HIV faces” herself.
The rate of HIV all over the Africa is high. In South Africa in particular, over 7 million people live with this deadly infection, and many of them are very young. Scientists have discovered the shocking truth: elderly men are the primary source of infection for the younger females!
They get up with very young ladies to have sex and provide better life conditions to them in return. However, most of these men forget to mention that they have HIV and pass it on to their young lovers.
Three out of five women aged under 24 are at risk of getting this disease from their blessers. Surely, it is a disgusting practice, but are the older men the only ones to blame for it? Young women should be acutely aware of the consequences of getting “free” gifts and money in life.
Nothing comes to us for free and with no consequence! The price these girls pay for their luxury life is too high. Getting HIV, breaking down their health and lives and possibly infecting their future children – it’s too much for few years of trouble free life with a sugar daddy!
“You don't even want to talk condoms, or the guy will think you're promiscuous,” said Motsumi, who was 17 when she started going out with her older partner.
You get no rights, no way of protecting yourself, nothing. It’s not a deal worth going for. Blessers use poverty to satisfy their lusts, and these girls are lead by their lust for fancy life to sell their bodies. The awareness of the situation must be raised to stop the epidemic!
