President John Dramani Mahama slept on a student mattress inside the newly-constructed boys hostel of the Fumbisi Senior High Agric School in the Builsa South District of the Upper East Region.
The hostel is one of the projects the president commissioned during his tour of the region.
President Mahama's decision to sleep on the student mattress is said to have stunned teachers and students of the school who plan to make a memorial out of it, according to a report by starrfmonline.com.
As part of his "Accounting to the People" tour of the region, the president also cut the sod for work to begin on the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmakom Road and the Tamne Irrigation Dam in the Garu-Tempane District.
