Mzbel has condemned the public for insulting her regarding comments she made in support of President John Dramani Mahama and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mzbel said last week that, when you compare Mahama’s reign to the New Patriotic Party’s eight years, it upstages the latter, and that means the NDC absolutely deserve another term. Her comments were received with insults especially on her social media pages.
The singer has released a press statement saying that it is a shame to see people insult, ridicule and attack her personality just because she was bold enough to voice out her political opinion, and endorse. President Mahama.
She quizzed: "Are these not the same hypocrites who preach about peace and political participation? Why rain insults on others because they disagree with your political views?"
Mzbel who belongs to a group calling itself 'Celebrities for Mahama' concluded in her statement that it was a disgrace for Ghanaians to act in such a manner.
"I don’t have a problem if you disagree with my choice and political opinion, but Instead of taking the time to insult, say false things and / or misquote me, you should rather focus on sharing your views, declaring your stand and respecting others’ political decisions, " she added.
