A group of teacher trainees has warned President Mahama to restore teacher trainee allowance or risk losing their votes.
In a statement issued by the concerned teacher trainees on July,25 the group reveals that government has shown gross disrespect to teacher trainees and teaching as a profession.
"It is not surprising that some teachers always have their salaries delays or not paid for several months and for that matter, leading to the poor performance of public sector education. We came across a statement from the government that Nursing Training allowance has been restored. Though the amount has been reduced to Gh¢150 per month," the group revealed.
Meanwhile, the ministry of finance has granted financial clearance to public universities in the country to recruit new academic staff to augment their faculties to ensure quality education at the tertiary level.
