Suhuyini lobbies northerners to vote for Mahama

The NDC parliamentary candidate for Tamale North constituency has asked voters in the northern regions of Ghana not to reject John Dramani Mahama in the 2016 elections because he is a native of the region.

Mr Alhassan Suhuyini made these comments to a gathering of students when he presented relief items to victims of a fire accident at the boy’s dormitory of the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO).

According to the former Radio Gold host, it will not be fair on the part of northerners if they did not vote for the president in this year’s election because other regions had voted for their natives in past elections.

He said the Ewes supported President JJ Rawlings because he was from the region while Ashantis voted for former President John Kufuor for being their own.

“When Professor Atta Mills decided to run for president the whole of the Central Region, his home region, voted massively for him before he could win in 2008, and do you know the sad news? When John Mahama from the north of the country decided to be president in 2012, the NDC in the northern region lost 11 constituencies," he opined.

"Madama deserves a second term in office for his sterling performance, this I believe will ensure he completes his transforming lives agenda," Suhuyini added.
