The mayor of Massachusetts in the United States, Joseph M. Petty, has honoured young Ghanaian actor, Abraham Attah, and presented him with the Key to the City.
The Key to the City is an award presented by a town or city's municipal government to esteemed residents or visitors whom the city wishes to honour.
Attah was presented with the key for his “accomplishments and rising stardom as a young actor in Hollywood”.
In a citation that accompanied the award, the mayor said Attah's award-winning performances was as an inspiration to young people.
“Your award-winning performance captivated world audiences; these profound strides serve as an inspiration for other young actors like you. You have a unique and bright future ahead of you,” he said.
Attah burst onto the movie scene with his portrayal of a child soldier in Netflix’s Beasts of No Nation. He has won several awards locally and internationally.
He is currently on the set of Spiderman: Homecoming in Atlanta, Georgia.
