A 53-year-old pastor has been arrested for impregnating more than 20 members of his congregation in Enugu, Nigeria.
Pastor Timothy Ngwu, the general overseer of Vineyard Ministry of the Holy Trinity, reportedly slept with and impregnated several women in his church, including married women and young girls.
He is said to have told the women that the Holy Spirit asked him to sleep with them.
According to a report by Nigeria’s Vanguard newspaper, Ngwu told the Enugu State police command that by sleeping with the women, he was only carrying out the instruction of God.
He claimed that the Holy Spirit would choose a woman for him and he would sleep with her, irrespective of her marital status.

Ngwu also told Naij.com that he had five wives with 13 children along with concubines he got through what he called the prophetic will of God.
Ngwu’s estranged wife, Veronica Ngwu, is said to have reported his conduct to the police after he impregnated her young niece, leading to his arrest.
The Vanguard report quoted a brother of Ngwu as saying that God’s anger had befallen the pastor whom he accused of abandoning his wife who has three children for him and going about impregnating married women and young girls.
“God’s anger has befallen my brother; we have severally appealed to him to stop what he was doing but he refused. He has colonised our compound, bearing children with recklessness. He accused us of being jealous of him because he is doing the will of God.
“Look at the whole compound littered with children of different sex and age,” he lamented.
The police have reportedly charged Ngwu with sexual abuse.
