Radio Gold, Montie FM go off-air following court ruling

Frequencies of Radio Gold and Montie FM have been off-air several hours after the supreme court ruling on the contempt case involving the Network Broadcasting Limited.

It is unclear if the development is connected to the contempt ruling by the court which saw a Montie FM presenter and two panelists heading to jail for four months. Also, managers of the station have all been found guilty and thus fined 30,000 cedis or risk facing a one-month jail term.

The panellists, on a discussion programme on the station, threatened to kill judges, with specific reference to Justice Sulemana Gbadegbe and Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood.
