According to Daddy Lumba, the late Daasebre Gyamenah was a talented artiste who stood out as the future of Ghanaian highlife.
DL, born Charles Fosu, was speaking on the "Edwuma Oo" show on Accra-based Atinka FM when he expressed his passionate grief about the passing of Daasebre.
Daasebre Gyamenah had earlier died of what was suspected to be a heart attack. He passed at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Friday, 29 July 2016.
Lumba praised the "Kokooko" hitmaker saying that it was evident that Daasebre was a potential highlife king, who would have built upon the foundation laid by highlife greats like himself (Daddy Lumba), Amakye Dede among others.
In May 2007, Daasebre was sentenced to prison in the UK, after he was found guilty of possessing illicit drugs.
Because Daasebre Gyamenah is also an Islam convert known as Abubakar Sadique, there have been some issues over his burial process with both the Christian factions and Islam factions claiming the right to give the deceased his final passing rites.
