Daughter of the late legendary highlife singer, Daasebre Gyamenah, has revealed that she heard about her father’s death on radio on Friday morning.
In an interview with an Eastern Regional journalist, Kojo Ansah, Serwa said the news about her father’s demise came as a shock to her.
“When I heard that he had died, I was shocked because I didn’t know he was ill. So I called home and they said I should come join the family in this gathering where we are all trying to process the information,” she said.
Talking about what she will remember the most about her dad, the daughter of the highlife artiste said his showmanship is what will remain freshest in her memory.
She also remembered him as an artiste and father who was committed to his family.
“My father was a good man and I will miss him. He always came around when we had family gathering and he would perform all the time. I will remember him for his performances especially. Those will remain fresh in my memory.”
The musician died in the early hours of Friday July 29, 2016 after a short illness.
