Police kill alleged armed robber at Ashiaman

The police have shot and killed a man whom they claimed opened fire on them at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.

Police say Daniel Doodu, 27, opened fire on their team at Christian Village near the Tema International School on Sunday.

Tema police public relations officer ASP Juliana Obeng said the patrol team returned fire, leading to his death.

The team was said to have been responding to call that Doodo and some robbers had broken into a home in the area.

According to ASP Obeng, a search on Doodo revealed that he had live cartridges.

He was reportedly an ex-convict.
