Lawyers for the Montie trio have formerly petitioned President John Mahama to pardon their clients.
The petition was presented to the presidency Tuesday morning and was received by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah at the Flagstaff House.
The petition was signed by notable NDC officials and government appointees including Minister of State. Also, some supporters of the party held vigils in support of the three at the premises of Montie FM.
The petitioners want the president to invoke his powers under Article 72 of the constitution to pardon the incarcerated panellist and show host.
The three were jailed for threatening the lives of Supreme Court judges during a radio discussion on Montie FM’s ‘Pamapaso’ programme.
