Second vigil held for Montie trio

Yet another vigil has was held for the Montie trio who were sentenced to serve four months in jail after they were found guilty of contempt charges.

The vigil, organised by the Research and Advocacy Platform (RAP), saw sympathisers of the three of all ages come together with many of them taking the opportunity to add to the growing list of signatories to the petition, now standing at over 100, 000 according to organisers converge at the Old Accra Polo grounds.

Meanwhile, all three men, Alistair Nelson, Godwin Ako Gunn and Salifu Maase have so far petitioned the president to execute his presidential pardon just so they get released - a development political opponents saw could infringe the independence of the Judiciary.
