Road accidents kill 133 Ghanaians between January to June

Ashanti regional manager of the national road safety commission (NRSC), Samuel Obeng Asiamah has revealed that a total of 133 persons have been killed in road accidents between January to June this year.

Announcing the development to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Samuel Obeng reveals that most of the road accidents have been due to drivers disregarding road traffic regulations.

In the first quarter of 2016 alone, the death toll in road accidents rose by 28% as compared to the year, 2015. The number of persons injured also rose by 10 percent within the first three months of 2016 registering absolute figures of 2,442 in 2015 and 2,687 this year.
