Ace broadcaster, Gifty Anti has hinted that she may launch a career in politics soon, starting with the bid to become a member of parliament.
In an interview with 3 FM, she said although she is “very interested in politics”, it has never been her calling but she is optimistic the situation might change, saying ” I believe I may have to start my political activism from now.”
The ‘Stand Point’ presenter added that she has over the years been supporting women across the political divide in the country albeit not overtly.
“I have a bigger constituency than going to be a parliamentarian where I will be restricted to a political party but maybe, I may consider going independent sometime,” Ms. Anti told 3FM.
In April 2015, poster of her allegedly contesting the primary of the New Patriotic Party in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam surfaced in Tema but she came out to deny any interest in the parliamentary seat in the area.
However, she was hopeful that a lot more women will be elected in the coming elections to add up to those who are already in parliament.
