The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has explained that the reason for the postponement of their flagbearer’s evening encounter at the IEA’s presidential debate is because the party’s manifesto was not ready.
According to the-the communications director for the NPP, Nana Akomea the party also want to prep their candidate properly.
“We have requested the postponement because our manifesto is not ready; the manifesto is a bit large, and we want to trim it a little. We also want Nana Addo to be prepped,” he told Joy FM on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Economic Affairs on Thursday evening announced an indefinite postponement of the IEA’s evening encounter with the NPP presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo.
This is the second time the IEA has called off the evening session with the former attorney general after an initial date in July also failed to pull through.
The IEA’s evening encounter provides an opportunity for presidential candidates of parties with Members of Parliament to open up on an abridged version of their manifestos.
