Rawlings warns against violence ahead of Dec. polls

Former president, Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings, has entreated Ghanaians and religious leaders to desist from activities that may plunge Ghana into violence come the 2016 elections.

Jerry Rawlings made the appeal when he led a delegation to participate in the final funeral rites of Osuodumgya Otutu Kono III, Akuapem Nifahene and Adukromhene at the Chief’s Durbar Grounds, Osipim-Adukrom on Saturday.

The appeal by Jerry Rawlings follows fears of heightened political tension in Ghana - a development the Ghana peace council fears could distort the peace process in Ghana before, during and after the general election.
