Robbers in Koala incident handed 150 years imprisonment

Criminals who attempting robbing a staff of Koala Shopping Center have been given a collective jail-term of 150-year imprisonment.

The five suspects were charged with conspiracy, robbery and possession of firearms. They were subsequently found guilty by an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Honour. Judge Aboagye Tando.

The Nigerian, Stanley Obaliko who shot the victim had 39 years and motor rider Oko Quarcoo had 35 years and the supervisor Gilbert Osabutey got 28 years the same as a security officer Micheal Edo and another security Felix Asadro receiving 20 years, all with hard Labour.

They were accused of snatching from the victim some items including Nokia phone worth GH¢800, a black ladies’ bag valued at GH¢200, a Koala ID card, invoices and an amount of GH¢100.

Earlier this year the two armed robbers attacked a lady; near the American Embassy, snatching her bag which they suspected contained money. Upon realising that the lady was not carrying cash on her, one of the robbers allegedly shot the lady in the calf.
