Supabets defrauds Ghana $600,000

An investigative report by Ghana Daily newspaper suggests that Supabets Ghana Limited has defrauded Ghana at a tune of US$600,000.

According to the newspaper, the gaming company through a clearing agency, Hail Him Shipping Ltd, falsely clasified and declared Supabets' gaming machines as computer monitors which are duty-free.

"A restricted report authored by the Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) and intercepted by our investigators reveal that Mr. Akwasi Serebour-Boateng, Managing Director of Hail Him Shipping personally altered the original invoice which quoted a value of US$345,366.64 by “misdescribing the items as slot Monitoring Computers,” excepts of the investigations revealed.

Though EOCO is yet to come up with a formal report regarding the development, hopes are high over the chances of Supabets to be arraigned before court for charges of fraud and connivance against government.
