One of Ghana’s female sprinters at the Olympics, Flings Owusu-Agyapong failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the 100 metre event at the on-going Rio Olympics in Brazil.
Flings run an impressive 11.43 seconds but unfortunately came 4th in her heat – ending her hopes of picking up a medal for herself and country.
Flings is the only female athlete to have competed in a track event among the other Ghanaian athletes so far. The others are expected to compete in their various events in the coming days.
Ghana had 16 athletes representing it at the 2016 Olympics. So far, all 7 athletes who have competed in the games have all failed progress to the next stage except Christian Amoah who made it to the finals of the men’s 85kg weightlifting but placed 11.
