A 76-year-old woman, Fati Zeinab, has been killed by a vehicle belonging to the mother of NDC parliamentary candidate, Ahaji Alhassan Suhuyini, while crossing the Choggu road in Tamale, Northen Region.
According to eyewitness, the accident happened around 1pm at a place the locals called “Waterworks”.
The old woman was knocked by a BMW vehicle with registration number GR-8711-15 while attempting to cross the road.
The driver of the vehicle, Hajia Zeinab Shaibu is also the mother of NDC parliamentary candidate for Tamale North constituency and former Radio Gold presenter, Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini.
Eyewitness say she lost control at a sharp curve whiles initiating and run into several containers along the street, crushing three motorcycles before she knocked down the woman.

An eyewitness who spoke to Accra-based Starr FM said the victim was rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital where she died from haemorrhagic shock according to medical officers.
Hajia Zeinab who sources say was still learning how to drive immediately fled the scene but left behind a little boy who disclosed her identity to an angry mob.
Public relations officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh also confirmed the incident and said Hajia Zeinab also suffered "shock" after the incident and is also on admission at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

He said investigations are already underway despite the inability of Hajia Zeinab to write an official statement.
The vehicle involved in the accident has since been towed to the regional police headquarters for further investigations.
The deceased is also expected to be buried in line with Islamic beliefs and customs with the family of the late meeting over the incident.
