A group of civil servants in the Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria has organised a spiritual intervention program against their long-standing unpaid salaries.

These teachers converged at the Ibom Plaza, Uyo in Akwa Ibom at about 7:39 am for a massive prayer and fasting, seeking the face of God in the wake of the adversity.

Media reports suggest that these public teachers have not been paid their salaries since April 2015. The move by these teachers raises questions over whether or not teachers in Ghana ever consider spiritual intervention programs as strike actions and demonstrations remain the key ways of getting their concerns made to government.
