1. Request over the cause of death of former president Atta Mills
With barely hours to the launch of the campaign, posters with the inscription; "Who killed Atta Mills” were seen posted across various locations in Cape Coast. So far, it remains unknown who could be behind the posters.
2. Soldiers assault journalist
Many would have thought the official campaign could end without any confrontations. That was not the case. According to reports by KasapaFM, an NDC youth activist was physically assaulted by military officers on duty at the stadium.
According to reports, the activist, whose identity is not immediately known without permission lifted one of the barricades manned by the soldiers to allow cars of some NDC bigwigs to drive through.
3. Crowd thins out as President Mahama delivered his speech
By the time President Mahama mounted the podium to give his speech at the election campaign launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Sunday evening, the Cape Coast sports stadium was virtually empty.
Reports by citifmonline reveal that thousands of supporters who filled the stadium to capacity earlier in the day had thinned to mere hundreds as President John Mahama took to the stage in the evening. Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports claim these supporters were just too tired of sitting through the entire campaign launch.
4. ...And the fashion craze!
Just like any other public event, the NDC campaign launch was met with funny and bizarre fashion outlooks.
From staunch supporters to hired entertainers, the campaign could just not have been complete without a touch of fashion.
