Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has urged Ghanaians to pray for wisdom and confidence for the Electoral Commission for them to carry out a transparent election during the upcoming polls.
The NPP leader made the comments at the Gaddiel Acquah Methodist Church in the Tarkwa Nsuem Constituency as part of his 5-day tour of the Western Region. According to him, the country needs peace at all times and with the help of God the peace, the country needs could be achieved.
“We need peace in Ghana before, during and after the December polls. If God is on our side, we will go through this election peacefully. So pray first for the Electoral Commission such that God will give them the wisdom and the confidence to give us free, fair and transparent elections come December 7."
"… that the result they will declare will be accepted by all. They are a key stakeholder in ensuring that there is peace in Ghana,” he said.
Nana Addo also asked members of the church and voters in the constituency not to hesitate in casting their votes for him and the party’s parliamentary candidate, George Mireku Duker during the December general elections.
