The aim of the campaign is to protest for the reduction of electricity tariffs by half as regional secretary for the party, Sule Salifu, warns of drastic measures should the government not listen to their concern.
Meanwhile, the government is yet to respond to the call of the opposition party. Their demonstration follows assurance by the public utilities regulatory authority (PURC) that electricity tariffs will not be increased in the third to fourth quarter of the year.
