Ghanaian athlete fails to qualify from 200m heat at Rio

Ghanaian athlete, Emmanuel Dasor who is contesting in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games has failed to qualify in the men’s 200m heat.

Emmanuel placed 6th in the heat race for the semi-finals on Tuesday.

The Ghanaian runner recorded an abysmal time of 20.65 which is below his personal best of 20.49 which helped him qualify for the Olympic Games.

Dasor was in the same heat as Bernardo Baloyes from Colombia, Anaso Jobodwana from South Africa, Ameer Webb from the United States, Shavez Hart from the Bahamas, Yohan Blake from Jamaica, Robin Erewa from Germany and Bruno Hortelano from Spain.

Bruno Horetlano took the first position to qualify whiles Yohan Blake placed second to propel him to the next round of the games.

So far Ghana has failed to clinch a medal at ongoing Olympics with more than half of the 16 contestants crashing out.
