A 72-year-old woman has been arrested by the Tema police for allegedly forcing her house help to drink 1.5 litres of urine.
Madam Emma Boahene is said to have forced the 13-year-old house help to drink the urine as punishment for urinating into an empty water bottle at night.
The victim had reportedly been using the water bottle each time she woke up at night to urinate but had always failed to dispose of the urine in the morning.
Madam Boahene is said to have warned her not to urinate in the bottle again and that she should always go outside the house to urinate.
When the woman found out that the victim had again urinated into the bottle and failed to throw it away, she forced her to drink the urine, according to a report by adomfmonline.com.
The report said the victim failed to comply with the woman's demand for her to urinate outside out of fear that someone could assault her.
The victim’s friend reportedly prevailed on her to report the matter to the police.
Madam Boahene is said to have been charged with emotional and psychological torture while the victim has been treated and discharged from by Tema General Hospital.
