EC deletes names of 99 persons from voters register in V/R

The electoral commission (EC) has deleted close to 99 names from the voters register in the Ho central constituency of the Volta region.

The deletion followed objections made by a resident of Hodzokorfe, Leonard Agbesi, who claimed that registrants were not  ‘residents or ordinarily residents’ of his community, where they registered as stipulated in the Public Elections Regulation, 2016, Constitutional Instrument (C.I) 91.

Meanwhile, an official of the electoral commission has revealed to the court that following objections raised by the resident, several efforts to get the objected persons prove their eligibility proved futile.
