Head of the constitutional and legal affairs committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Professor Mike Ocquaye has revealed that NPP has the right to suspend its flagbearer, Nana Addo should he go against the laws governing the party.
"The NPP is capable of disciplining the Flagbearer and we will do it in accordance with established laws and legal practices. A flagbearer who misconducts himself will be disciplined," he revealed in an interview with Ultimate FM.
Mike Ocquaye's warning follows the suspension of NPP's national chairman, Paul Afoko, who recently lost a case regarding his suspension at an Accra human rights court.
Meanwhile, party members have been asked to abide by the rules of the NPP and "not allow the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to use them as a bait to infiltrate the ranks of the party".
