Ghana's last two hopes of putting Ghana on the map at the Rio 2016 Olympics have crushed out of their various events.

John Ampomah, Ghana's record holder of the men's javelin missed out on the qualifiers with a throw of 80.39m during last night's event.

Earlier today, the 4x100 relay race also saw Ghana's female team come last with a 43.37s run.

This means that all the 16 representatives at the Rio Olympics for 5 different events all failed to make it to the next level of competition, shattering Ghana's hopes of winning a medal in 2016 too.

Ghana has won only 4 medals in its Olympic history; 3 bronze medals and one silver. For the past 24 years. Ghana has won no medal and will have to wait another 4 years to give the Olympics another shot.
