Famed Kumawood actor, Akwesi Boadi aka Akrobeto has criticised people connecting the rampant celebrity deaths in Ghana with spirituality.
Earlier this year, Prophet Samuel Baffour of El Shaddai Prayer Center and Rev.Isaac Owusu Bempah of the Glorious Word Ministry International made shocking prophecies that, most Ghanaian celebrities especially those in the creative Arts industry were going to die prematurely before the year 2016 ends.
With the recent number of celebrity deaths, many people have started speculating as to whether these prophecies have come true.
However, Akrobeto expressed his opinion on the matter in an interview with Dr. Who on Accra-based Hot 93.9fm. The actor said, "It's very sad when I hear people saying there is something spiritual behind the current rampant celebrity deaths. My brother, there is nothing spiritual about it. Go to Korle-Bu or Komfo Anokye hospitals and see the number of people who die daily. Are they also spiritual?"
He further added, "Death is inevitable just that when a celebrity dies, it is being published by the media making it look as if celebrities are the only people dying which is very wrong. No, celebrities are not the only people dying in Ghana."
The Ghana showbiz industry over the course of eight months has already lost seven celebrities in the Creative Arts industry like Bob Okalla, Daasebre Gyamenah, Nkomode, George Williams, and most recently Kofi Middleton-Mends.
Akrobeto who rose to fame through the Key-Soap Concert Party series has advised his colleagues to go for regular medical check-ups.
