President John Dramani Mahama says he will avoid another election petition by winning the December polls convincingly.
According to him, despite a whole year of “counting pink sheets,” it could not hinder his plans for the nation.
The President believes the NPP prevented his government from achieving so much with the election petition.
Mahama made the comment after addressing the chiefs and residents of Aboadze when he inspected the sea defence project at Shama and Aboadze.
“When I took over in 2013 our friends took us to court over the 2012 election [and] almost the entire first year was wasted," he said.
Adding that: “They were there counting pink sheets, we counted pink sheets for almost a year. Despite that, we were able to undertake a lot of projects. This means we could have done more.”
He said the NDC government has constructed roads, schools, water expansion projects and hospitals all over the country in the three years instead of the mandated four years
“You will notice that within these four years, we have done well. It is not even four years, but three years,” President Mahama noted.
The President believes his party will win the elections convincingly, and this would prevent the NPP from going to court.
