In an interview on e.TV Ghana, Counselor George Lutterodt believes the disciplinary action against the young teens in Bishop Daniel Obinim’s church was in the right direction.
However Lutterodt thinks Obinim should apologise Ghanaians and his church members for using ‘anointed and Godly’ hours to mete out punishment for something that should have been dealt with domestically.
Counselor Lutterodt also asked the pastor to apologise to his wife, Florence Obinim for his insolent behaviour towards her when she tried to intervene during the lashing.
"Who is Obinim without his wife? How can you shout on your wife? Who married the woman for him? He has to apologise to the congregation and to his wife," the counselor said.
Obinim may be facing charges of child abuse after a number of human right bodies condemned his acts and threatened to take the pastor to court. To this, Counselor Lutterodt said Obinim had every right to punish the children and could not be prosecuted.
