Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Victor Smith is reported to have abandoned his position in pursuit of his MP dreams in Ghana. The move is however causing a lot of tension back in Ghana’s High Commission in the U.K.
According to Accra-based Starr FM who broke the news, their sources say the French leave of High Commissioner has halted a number of activities and programmes scheduled to take place this year.
Some of the staff who spoke on anonymity said there is a lot to be done but they are afraid to complain for fear of losing their job.
“There are many documents that need to be signed, but we cannot sign them because the High Commissioner is not there. He has been away for quite some time now but we are afraid to complain.

“There are still upcoming events and programmes to be done with our British counterparts here, but all that have been put on hold because the leader is not here and in diplomatic circles not everything can be done by a subordinate,” a rather disturbed staff at the High Commission disclosed
Mr. Victor Smith is currently running for parliament on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress in the hometown of NPP Flagbearer, Nana Akuffo Addo. This is Mr.Smith’s second time of contesting the Abuakwa North seat which is a stronghold of the opposition New Patriotic Party.
The High Commissioner is yet to comment on the accusations that have been levelled against him
