Ghana is expected to witness a partial solar eclipse on September 1, 2016.
According to timeanddate.com, the partial solar eclipse follows an annular solar eclipse across the globe on the same date. The partial eclipse, though yet to be confirmed by the Ghana meteorological agency, is estimated to last for close to 2 hours, 33 minutes.
The last time Ghana experienced a partial eclipse of the sun was on November 3, 2006. Partial Solar Eclipses happen when the Moon comes between the Sun and the Earth, but they don't align in a perfectly straight line. Because of this, the Moon only partially covers the Sun's disc.
