With the December elections approaching, it is the hope of New Patriotic Party (NPP) members that flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo finally wins on his third attempt.
However, not all NPP members may be rooting for Akufo-Addo. There are some may feel that an Akufo-Addo defeat best serves their interest.
Here are four party members who may not vote for the flagbearer in December.
1. Paul Afoko
He hates how he was ousted as national chairman of the party and has challenged the process in court. He has made it clear that he is undecided as to whether to vote for Akufo-Addo or not. He is not likely to vote Akufo-Addo.
2. Kwabena Agyapong
Like Afoko, he is aggrieved and feels he has been unfairly treated by the party. Although he has remained largely silent since he was ousted as general secretary of the party, he is not likely to vote for the NPP.
3. Sammy Crabbe
Sammy Crabbe was ousted from his position as the 2nd vice-chairman of the NPP. He has been fighting the suspension in court since and has had only negative things to say about the party. He is not likely to vote for Akufo-Addo.
4. Baah Acheampong
An NPP activist in Kumasi, he had been described as a mole of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) due comments he makes which are deemed to be anti-Akufo-Addo. He was recently disowned by the party. He is not likely to vote for the party.
