A gas explosion at the Tinga market in the Bole district has reportedly killed nine people and injured several others.
According to a Joy News report, the gas was contained in a long truck travelling to Wa in the Upper West region but the truck upon reaching the Tinga market exploded killing nine people including the driver and the conductor who were the only occupants of the truck.
The incident is said to have spread fast to houses in the area the explosion occurred causing massive damage to houses but the Ghana National Fire Service was on the scene to douse the fire.

Meanwhile, DCE for the area James Jaaga in an interview with Joy FM said the police have began investigations to the cause and circumstance of the explosion.
The injured persons are at the Bole government hospital receiving treatment.
