The group in an earlier protest has described Anokye's suspension as “detrimental” and “fatal” to the party’s chances of winning the December elections.

The suspended chairman, Emmanuel De-Graft Anokye, has been accused of misappropriating party funds - claims which the spokesperson of the aggrieved supporters, Taufic Mohammed, describes as unsubstantiated and false.
