Did you know that President John Dramani Mahama is a chief?
Well, one of the fringe benefits that come with being president is that he gets to be made a chief by communities who appreciate his efforts.
He has been installed chief at least three times by different communities since he assumed office.
Let's review the three occasions:
1. When he was made the Aare Atolase of Offa Kingdom in Kwara State, Nigeria, in 2015
It means "President of all others that are ensuring the nobility of this Kingdom is maintained”.
2. When he was made Asumfohene by the Chiefs and people of Odupong Traditional Area at Kasoa in the Central Region.
The honour was in recognition of the president’s commitment to development in the area.
His stool name is Nana Asomfo Dramani Atopi.
3. When he was installed development chief at Abease in the Brong Ahafo Region
It was in recognition of his developmental works in the area.
