Most of the time, when Ghanaian celebrities are asked if they see themselves being entertainers for the rest of their lives, they normally answer 'yes.'
It is a fact that a career in only entertainment is not sustainable enough, and so it has become a common phenomenon to see actors, singers and other entertainers finding other sources of income by venturing into other businesses.
However, some entertainers have resolved to have a more direct impact on their societies than just merely known for a few songs or movies and which better way to affect communities than using politics?
The following 6 entertainers all have political ambitions which they actively pursuing in this election year.

The Hiplife artiste has recently revealed that he has intentions of becoming a Member of Parliament in future. He has however declared his full support for the New Patriotic Party and has even released a song to support the party's 2016 election campaign.
2. Ebi Bright
The actress relocated to Ghana to pursue a career in acting but has surprised many by joining in the race for Member of Parliament for Tema Central constituency under the ticket of the National Democratic Congress. She has been actively campaigning and pushing for more women to be voted into office in the general election.
3. John Dumelo
John Dumelo, although still an actor has dedicated a chunk of his time to traveling to rural areas in Ghana to campaign for the NDC. Although he has denied on several occasions that he is not a politician, he has identified with the party and has even gone up many stages to campaign for President Mahama and the NDC.
4. Kwame Dzokoto
Actor and TV presenter Kwame Dzokoto is running for MP of the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency in the 2016 general election. Due to the vigorous campaign he is undertaking, he has forfeited most of his TV and radio roles to concentrate on canvassing votes for himself.
5. Diamond Appiah
Outspoken singer Diamond has put her music career on hold to run for MP of the Trobu constituency under the ticket of the United Progressive Party. She hopes that by being a legislator, she can be a voice for the minority in society.
6. Clement Bonney
Clement has stated on several occasions that his acting career has been threatened several times every since he declared his support for the National Democratic Congress. That has however not prevented the actor from serving as a mouthpiece for the ruling government, especially when it comes to matters of the creative industry.
