Landing a job in the police service as a polytechnic graduate could be a very difficult adventure as authorities of the police service are reported to have opened vacancies for only university degree holders.

The Ghana National Union of Polytechnic Students (GNUPS) in a press release raised concerns over this development describing it as a "great shock and outrage".

The police administration announced a recruitment process that will enrol new officers, mainly professionals and degree holders beginning September 5, 2016.

Director of public affairs of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent Cephas Arthur says the recruitment will seek to employ the services of doctors or medical specialists, engineers, auditors, public relation officers, legal officers, people with a background in statistics, medical psychology, biochemists.
